My fellow AI explorers
It’s 2024, and AI isn’t just something we interact with occasionally—it’s now part of our daily routine.
But with so many large language models (LLMs) to choose from, how do we pick the right ones for our everyday needs?

From ChatGPT to LLaMA, Gemini to Perplexity, the landscape is getting crowded, and it can feel like trying to pick the perfect chocolate bar from an endless shelf.
This week, we’re going to break down some of the best alternatives to ChatGPT!
Today you will learn:
Which LLMs offer the best privacy options for companies.
How some lesser-known models are better suited for specific tasks.
Why the top-tier LLMs are pushing the boundaries of what AI can do.
I’ve grown over 300,000 followers on Instagram in the last 16 months, and now I’m teaching you how!
In September, I'm taking 3 business owners, and showing them exactly how to get an extra 10,000 followers within 90 days or less without showing your face on camera.
But which ones are truly worth your time? And which ones should you keep an eye on?
That's the question!
Why should you care?
Privacy for Enterprises: Learn which LLMs are trusted by corporations for safeguarding sensitive data.
Task-Specific Mastery: Discover models fine-tuned for niche tasks, like software development or uncensored responses.
Free, Powerful Alternatives: Explore free models that rival premium AI services in capability.
D-Tier
We begin with the D Tier, where Pi and Meta AI models found themselves. While Pi offers a conversational human-like tone, it lacks any real standout features.
Meta AI, although based on Meta’s powerful LLaMA models, struggles because it doesn’t offer the cutting-edge tools available with platforms like ChatGPT.
Both, unfortunately, fall short for general use, making them suitable only for very niche cases.
C-Tier
Moving up to the C Tier, we find models like Microsoft’s Co-Pilot and Phind. Co-Pilot is a lighter version of ChatGPT, mainly used in corporations due to privacy restrictions.
However, for the average consumer, ChatGPT's GPT-4 still reigns supreme with its broader capabilities and feature set.
Phind, on the other hand, shines as a development-focused alternative to Perplexity AI.
Developers looking for precise answers to coding-related questions might find Phind a great companion, but it remains limited to that niche.
B-Tier
Then we arrive at the B Tier, and this is where things start to get interesting.
Let’s talk about Dolphin, an uncensored, open-source model that, unlike mainstream LLMs, will give you any answer you ask for—no filters attached.
While it’s not for everyone, if you’re working in a field where you need unfiltered responses, Dolphin’s got your back.
Next up, LeChat by Mistral—a name you might not know, but you should.
LeChat offers an alternative to GPT-4, and the best part?
It’s free.
You can create agents, deploy them easily, and access capabilities on par with GPT-4 without paying a cent.
This is a great option for users looking to build and customize AI interactions without the cost of premium services.
The final B Tier member is Gemini Advanced, Google’s generative AI powerhouse.
Gemini Advanced recently introduced a “Gem Manager,” a tool that mimics GPT’s builder but with added Gmail and YouTube integrations.
While it shows promise, it’s still inconsistent.
The rollout is staggered, meaning not all features are accessible yet, but its potential makes it worth keeping an eye on.
S-Tier
Finally, the S Tier, where only the best LLMs reside, is dominated by ChatGPT (unsurprisingly) and Claude AI.
ChatGPT, particularly with GPT-4, is the gold standard in the LLM space for its wide array of features, performance, and reliability.
Then there’s Claude AI, which offers more conversational fluidity.
While ChatGPT remains the go-to for detailed tasks and world knowledge, Claude’s natural conversational tone makes it feel more “human,” which can be beneficial for tasks requiring a more personable AI.
Golden Nuggets From Today:
Dolphin provides uncensored responses, making it perfect for very specific use cases.
LeChat offers a free alternative to GPT-4 for users who need powerful AI without the price tag.
ChatGPT and Claude AI still hold their place as the go-to tools for everyday use and natural conversation.
These rankings offer a snapshot of the ever-evolving world of LLMs.
It’s clear that while some models are still in their infancy, others have become indispensable tools in our AI toolbox.
Whether you're looking for a highly specialized tool or a general powerhouse, this list has something for everyone.
Until our next AI rendezvous,
