ChatGPT, a tool many of us are familiar with, has been revolutionizing the way we live hour day-to-day lives.

However, most people struggle to utilize the incredibleness that has been bestowed upon us.

And guess what?

You have the ability to take advantage of one of the most powerful tools in human history!

So, if you feel like this when it comes to ChatGPT and AI: 

Then this edition is for you!

This week, we’ll dig into maximizing research efficiency with the almighty ChatGPT.

Today you will learn how to:

• Save 10+ on research by leveraging ChatGPT's capabilities.

• Get insights directly from over 200 million scientific papers without lifting a finger.

• Tailor ChatGPT's responses to think like a university professor, business coach, or any other role you desire!

Without further ado, let’s dive in!

Before we start, unfortunately, you will need ChatGPT+ to utilize this time-saving method.

Luckily for you, it is only $20 a month (which is an absolute steal btw)

1. Enable Custom Instructions

Open the sidebar in ChatGPT, navigate to the bottom left-hand corner and click on the three dots.

Select "Custom Instructions" and ensure everyone can use custom instructions in ChatGPT.

After that, you'll see two boxes:

"What would you like ChatGPT to know about you to provide better responses?"

"How would you like ChatGPT to respond?"

Fill these out based on your research needs. For instance, if you want ChatGPT to think like a university professor, input relevant details.

(Optional) Utilize Custom Personas

If you have access to a custom personas database, you can select a persona that best fits your research needs.

You can also create your own persona by simply writing it yourself

Here is an example:

"Meet Bob: a businessman so dedicated that his coffee has a standing Monday morning meeting with his briefcase. They both agree the tie should be fired."

(I am sure you can do it better than me)

2. Activate the Consensus Search Plugin

Now for the most important part: actually using the tool (who could have guessed that?)

In the search bar of the Plugin Store, type "Consensus" and install the "Consensus Search" plugin.

This cheat code provides answers and insights directly from over 200 million scientific papers, making your research more robust, credible and most importantly, effortless.

3. Conducting Research:

With the plugin and custom instructions activated, you can start your research.

Simply state your research problem or question.

For example, "I need help researching the migratory patterns of rubber ducks in bathtubs."

ChatGPT will use the plugin to provide organized information, links for citations, and a structured approach to your research topic.

4. Deep Dive into Results:

ChatGPT will present key findings, methodological considerations, and implications for future research.

Click on the provided links to delve deeper into specific areas of interest. Use the "cite" option to get citations in the required format.

5. Generate Comprehensive Outputs:

You can ask ChatGPT to create research papers, reports, or summaries based on the findings.

For instance, prompt it with "Create a research paper based on your findings the migratory patterns of rubber ducks in bathtubs."

ChatGPT will format the output with sections like abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, and more.
