Did DeepSeek Train on OpenAI Data?

Not long after OpenAI CEO Sam Altman praised DeepSeek R1, the Financial Times reported that OpenAI had found evidence that DeepSeek might have trained on proprietary OpenAI models. If true, this could turn into a major AI copyright battle, adding another layer of controversy to the story.

Meanwhile, DeepSeek R1 is being integrated everywhere. 

Microsoft, Perplexity, Nvidia, Windsurf, and even Krea AI have added it as an available model, despite the ongoing scrutiny.
