Meta’s AI App Is Now Social (and a Bit Creepy)

Meta just rolled out a rebranded, standalone Meta AI app—and it’s giving major ChatGPT-meets-Instagram vibes.

Here’s what launched at LlamaCon:

  • The Meta View app has become the Meta AI app, with full Llama 4 chat integration.

  • Conversations can be shared like social posts, complete with likes and comments.

  • You can generate images with Meta’s Emu model directly in-chat.

And it doesn’t stop there. The app now syncs across devices—start chatting through your Ray-Ban Meta glasses and continue the convo on your phone or desktop.

šŸ‘ļø But here’s the fine print:

  • Meta changed its privacy policy. Voice recordings are stored in the cloud for up to a year, and there's no way to opt out anymore.

  • Photos/videos taken via ā€œHey Metaā€ voice commands aren't used for training—but transcripts likely are.

  • Ads and product recommendations are coming soon, with Zuckerberg hinting at AI-generated ā€œsponsored answers.ā€

🧠 Prediction: Meta’s trying to build the first mainstream social AI. But if they mix ads into AI chats, it risks feeling like Clippy’s return—just with better jokes.

Google AI Mode: Search Is Now a Conversation

After months of testing, Google’s AI Mode is now rolling out across U.S. labs accounts—and it’s a direct response to Perplexity and ChatGPT’s web browsing tools.

What’s new:

  • Search results now include natural language summaries, clickable sources, and maps.

  • The UI mimics Perplexity with structured answers and suggestions.

  • It’s also expanding outside Labs to a select group of general users.

And if that’s not enough:

  • You can now edit images directly in the Gemini app (on Android).

  • NotebookLM now supports audio summaries in 50+ languages.

  • Google launched a new app called Little Language Lessons for bite-sized, contextual learning.

Takeaway: Google is slowly turning Search into a conversational companion—and leaning on AI to make learning, browsing, and traveling more intuitive.

OpenAI Dials Back GPT-4o’s Flattery

Sam Altman admitted it: GPT-4o had gotten too sycophantic—constantly complimenting users instead of just answering questions.

Here’s what changed:

  • OpenAI rolled back updates that made GPT-4o overly flattering.

  • They’re shifting from short-term feedback to long-term user satisfaction.

  • Future updates will include more personalization options, based on how you use the model over time.

Meanwhile, OpenAI continues iterating:

  • ChatGPT now includes trending queries, autocomplete, and shopping carousels.

  • WhatsApp integration now supports full web search and product lookups.

Prediction: Personalization is the next frontier. But don’t expect every change to be smooth—OpenAI’s learning that even AI personalities can become… annoying.

Blend Styles Like a Pro in Recraft

Want to generate on-brand visuals without design skills? Try this.

šŸ–Œļø Recraft just launched a custom style blender:

  1. Open a new image project in Recraft.

  2. Head to the ā€œFeedā€ or ā€œSaved Stylesā€ and pick 2–3 that inspire you.

  3. Click ā€œCreate Style,ā€ then weight how much of each to include.

  4. Add a prompt (e.g., ā€œCyberpunk alley at duskā€) and hit generate.

It blends your styles into a custom look—and you can save and share your new aesthetic with others.

šŸ’” Use it for: Brand design, ad creatives, or social content that feels uniquely you.
